Our Biblical and Denominational Foundations

Our Biblical Foundations

We are a Biblically-based community that has found particular guidance in the following texts:

Micah 4: 6-8

On that day, says the Lord, I shall father those who were lost: I shall assemble the dispersed and those I have afflicted. I shall restore the lost as a remnant and turn the outcasts into a mighty nation. The Lord will be their king on Mount Zion forever from that time forward. And you, watch-tower of the flock, hill of Zion, the promises made to you will be fulfilled, and your former sovereignty will come again, the domination of Jerusalem.

Micah 6: 8

The Lord has told you mortals what is good and what it is that the Lord requires of you: only to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

I Corinthians 13: 13

And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.

Matthew 22: 34-40

Hearing that he silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees came together in a body, and one of them tried to catch him up with this question: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?” He answered, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. That is the greatest, the first commandment. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. Everything in the law and the prophets hangs on these two commandments.”
